Friday 1 September - Gold Coast Recreation Precinct - Tallebudgera
This is a one-day face-to-face session aimed at Primary School Teachers. In 2023, the Conference will be held at a new venue, the Gold Coast Recreation Precinct set by the glorious Tallebudgera Creek, Tallebudgera. This conference will be jam packed with practical and actionable information and resources to enhance your lessons!
The program for the day is as follows:
8:30-9:00am - Registration
9:00-9:50am - Welcome and opening session - 'How to' conversation: supporting positive mental health outcomes in school settings - Angela Wunsch (Headspace Qld)
9:50-10:40am - Implementing Health and Wellbeing Education in Queensland Schools - Garry Day and Christine Loos (Department of Education)
10:40-11:00am - Morning Tea
11:00am-12:30pm - Practical Session 1. Delegates will rotate through each of the following sporting demonstrations - Wheelchair Basketball (Sporting Wheelies), Pickleball (Libby Wood, Griffith Uni), T-Ball, Baseball and Baseball 5 (Daniel Spiers - Baseball Qld)
12:30-1:10pm - Lunch
1:10-2:40pm - Practical Session 2. Delegates will rotate through each of the following sporting demonstrations - Aerobics (Nat Geale - Gymnastics Qld), Goal Ball (Sporting Wheelies), Bowl Patrol (Kane Dean-Eddy - Ten Pin Qld)
2:40 - 3:30pm - Teacher Collaboration Session. What experiences do you face in your role on a daily basis. Share your experiences with your peers and collaborate on strategies to apply to your day to day teaching.
3:30pm - Conference close.
Like previous years, both theory and practical sessions will form part of the day with the Tallebudgera venue providing plenty of opportunity to use the great facilities within the precinct.
This is also essentially part one of our offering to Primary School teachers with part two to be held online on Friday 20 October.
