This one day professional learning event is jammed packed with practical and actionable information and resources to enhance your lessons!
First up, Nikki Patton from the QCAA will provide an overview of the changes and implementation plan for the Australian Curriculum, Health and Physical Education v9.
We'll move into developing task-specific standards (marking guides) for HPE, that will be aligned to the curriculum, assessment and achievement standards. Most importantly, we'll do this in plain language, so they are easy to interpret and understand.
The next session explores the educative purpose of the focus area, active play and minor games for skill development in Years 3 - 6.
Teachers will participate in and explore developmental movement skills and sequences in collaboration with, Tennis Australia, Cricket Queensland, Grotto Golf and Football Australia.
The final session will explore fundamental movement skills of stability, locomotion and object control. Teachers will participate in insightful motor skill activities designed in progressive stages for Prep to Year 2 in collaboration with Gymnastics Queensland, Tenpin Bowling Australia and Bocce Australia.
Teachers will receive ACHPER QLD templates that will help to effectively communicate to families, classroom teachers and admin, the importance of the fundamental movement skills being taught in their lessons and how to better support student performance at home and in the classroom.
