Ball Tag

The purpose of this activity is to get children moving and to practice manipulating a ball. It improves their locomotor skills, hand eye coordination, agility, and balance.

Equipment required:
Balls, markers or rope to mark out the playing space.

Ideas for variations:
Ball size: increase or decrease to vary the challenge
Playing area: increase or decrease the size or change the shape.

The Main Idea

One group of children roll balls along the ground attempting to 'tag' another group of children who are trying to avoid the balls by running and jumping out of the way.
