Gathering, analysing and synthesising data in Unit Two – Sport Psychology and physical activity

In this initial session, data gathering processes in Sport Psychology will be modelled, using a range of different strategies, including the identification of personal strengths. Questionnaires and reflective journals will assist participants to capture primary data. This primary data will be used to carry out the processes of analysis and synthesis to inform the design of a strategy to optimise performance. Subsequently, evaluation of the strategy will be demonstrated, using a logic model. Following this session, participants will explore assessment item and instrument construction as well as making judgements about item responses using syllabus reporting standards in the context of a formative examination assessment technique.
