The Planning and Assessing the Australian Curriculum course is designed for secondary school HPE teachers in state and non-state sectors. The course will help these teachers to clearly articulate, align and make explicit their curriculum decisions and their judgements of student learning in the physical domain. It will also help them develop knowledge and skills that will be relevant to both the current and forthcoming Health and Physical Education senior secondary syllabuses. Through interactive classroom demonstrations and outdoor, movement-based activities, this course will engage with the Australian Curriculum: Health and Physical Education in depth and explore its concrete, real-world implications for teachers planning and assessment practices.
Participants will accrue 5½ hours of professional development that addresses Focus Areas 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 5.1, 5.2 and 5.3 of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.

ACHPER QLD is pleased to be delivering the Moving & Learning Classrooms course in 2017. The course is designed for Primary School classroom teachers in state and non-state sectors. The course will provide the tools for classroom teachers to teach physical activity and to use movement as a vehicle for other learning.
Through active classroom demonstrations and games based activities, participants will learn the pedagogical skills required to help children develop fundamental movement skills such as running, jumping, throwing, kicking, catching and balancing.
The course will also demonstrate how to integrate physical activity into other learning Key Learning Areas, in ways requiring little equipment. Skills for organizing and managing indoor and outdoor movement activities will also be covered.
