Management Committee

Caroline Brooks, Vice-President

Caroline Brooks has been an employee of Education Queensland since 1980, the majority of that time as a Secondary School HPE teacher with stints in Mackay, Warwick, Logan City and Brisbane Metropolitan Schools. From 1995 to 2008 she was based at Mount Gravatt High School as an HPE SAC and also as a teacher of Special Education. Caroline has spent 2009 as the PE Specialist at Fig Tree Pocket State School- her first primary posting which she found different but enjoyable.

Caroline managed to have some time out of the sun in her career by working with the Alcohol and Drugs Program Unit, Department of Education as a resource writer and working as an Educational Advisor in what was then Brisbane South Region. Caroline has also been involved in Learning Support at Rochedale High School. It has been a rather eclectic career.

Caroline joined the Management Committee after the 2004 State Conference because she wanted to advocate for the HPE subject to an audience wider than her school. Caroline has since convened the 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, and 2012 Brisbane Conferences and the 2009 regional conference in Cairns. Away from her job and association duties she enjoys participating (as distinct from competing) in triathlons, windsurfing, walking and appreciating performing arts.
