Fiona Deadman, Management Committee Member
Fiona has worked in the television industry for 25 years, first as a journalist for Seven News in Brisbane, and in more recent years as the producer of lifestyle programs.
In 1993 she had the opportunity to produce sporting identities John Alexander and Jack Newton in the UK during coverage of Wimbledon and British Open Golf.
Her first involvement with the production of outdoor lifestyle subject matter came courtesy of the programs Brownie’s Coastwatch, and later Hooked on Water. She was the Series Producer of Creek to Coast at its inception in 1999, has produced Queensland Weekender, and is currently responsible for The Great South East.
Fiona also enjoys creating and writing special projects for TPD Media. Her most recent documentaries include “From Bulldust to Bitumen and Beyond, a history of motoring in Queensland”, “No QR, No Queensland”, and last Easter’s Queensland Events special “Way-out, Weird and Wonderful… unique Queensland Events”.
She takes great pleasure in unearthing interesting stories and revealing the great characters that call Queensland home.
She is married to a television cinecameraman and has two wonderful and always co-operative teenage boys. Fiona joins ACHPER QLD to help identify promotion and publicity opportunities and looks forward to increasing the profile of the organization in education circles and the greater community.
