Opportunity for Feedback on New Syllabuses
The Queensland Government has announced that a new senior assessment and tertiary entrance system will be introduced for students entering Year 11 in 2018. The announcement was made following the recommendations of the Review of Senior Assessment and Tertiary Entrance, conducted by the Australian Council for Educational Research, and the results of public and stakeholder consultation. The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) has commenced the redevelopment of senior syllabuses and first drafts of 35 redeveloped Authority subject syllabuses are available for feedback from Wednesday 4 May to Wednesday 25 May 2016. Teachers of Health and Physical Education are strongly encouraged to engage with these documents and provide feedback at each opportunity. Draft 1 syllabuses are available from the QCAA Syllabus Redevelopment page. This QCAA Memo contains further information and the survey link to provide feedback. More information can be accessed via this Fact Sheet.

Conference presentations will be available shortly and will be available for a month before being moved to the members' only area. Another great reason to become a member of ACHPER QLD.
