INSPIRATIONAL TEACHER OF THE YEAR AWARD ANNOUNCED
We are delighted to announce Lauren Hobson, from Laidley State High Shcool, as our 2018 UQ HMNS Inspirational Teacher of the Year. Lauren is a true inspiration to her students, fellow teachers and the wider school community.

From spending countless hours training the senior girls touch football team to organising and leading a 3-day camp on the Gold Coast, Lauren has dedicated much of her own time to supporting her students. She uses sport as a tool of inclusion, designing activities that allow students from all levels, backgrounds and abilities to participate and develop. Her infectious positive energy is noted by her whole school community. Lauren's students also describe her as a true leader, always taking time to listen, encourage and set an example of sportsmanship.

Congratulations Lauren - a very worthy recipient of the 2018 Inspirational Teacher Award.

AFTERNOON WORKSHOPS - SNR HEALTH AND PE
We are disappointed to advise that we have been unable to secure presenters from QCAA for the Senior Health and PE workshops. This means we are unable to run the workshops through ACHPER QLD at this time. You can request PD directly from QCAA through the following link. www.qcaa.qld.edu.au/pd-events/request-pd/form.

To address the need for more professional development around the new Senior Syllabus we will be running two sets of Masterclasses in 2019. Besides the usual November Masterclass, we will be running a Senior Health and a Senior PE Masterclass during the April pupil free days. See our 2019 Calendar for more details.
